Usually there will be some resistance but if the belt has broken the drum will turn more easily.
With the door of the washing machine open try turning the drum.
Front load washers feature trouble free operation and efficiency but they may occasionally develop minor issues.
These washers offer multiple wash cycles spin speeds and rinse temperatures.
If your washing machine s door either won t lock shut or won t open the door lock assembly is most likely the issue.
If it locks up again then the manual will help you determine what has failed.
Go ahead and try running another load.
Red lock lite is illuminated.
If the washer does not spin or drain try a few simple solutions before contacting a service technician and incurring the cost of an unnecessary service call.

On front load washers the door hook is used to engage the lock mechanism.
Other potential causes include problems with the wiring or the main electronic control board or with the washer s door hinge.
Slide a flathead screwdriver in the seam of the bottom panel for a front loader.
If the door hook becomes damaged it may not properly activate the door lock assembly or it may not disengage easily from the lock mechanism at the end of the cycle.
The door strike also known as the catch or hook is part of a safety mechanism installed on front loading washing machines or used to activate the lid switch on a top load washer.
If this is the case you ll need to open up the access panel but before doing so eliminate any risks of electric shock or short circuits.
